On 4 July 2026, I participated in the Job Fair, CSR Award & Entrepreneurship Fair 2026 held at the Rangpur Zila Parishad Community Center under the Skills to Succeed project.
I attended the event as a Youth Advisory Council (YAC) Member Secretary, representing the youth perspective in an initiative focused on connecting skills development with employment and entrepreneurship opportunities.
Jointly organised by Eco-Social Development Organization (ESDO) and Save the Children, the event brought together young job seekers, employers, development organisations and other stakeholders. Representatives from organisations including RFL Group, PRAN Group, Pertex Group and RN Technology participated alongside local employers.
The event provided trained young people with an opportunity to submit their CVs and participate in on-site interviews. Several participants received immediate employment opportunities through the recruitment process, demonstrating the importance of creating direct pathways between skills training and decent work.
Beyond employment, the event also highlighted the importance of practical skills, continuous learning and entrepreneurship in a rapidly changing job market. Discussions around the Fourth Industrial Revolution emphasised that young people need to continuously develop their skills and adapt to emerging opportunities.
As a YAC Member Secretary, being part of the event gave me an opportunity to observe and contribute to a platform where young people’s skills, aspirations and employment opportunities were brought together. It also reinforced my belief that youth development should go beyond training alone. Young people need access to networks, opportunities and platforms where they can turn their skills into meaningful livelihoods.
The event was a valuable experience in understanding how collaboration among development organisations, employers and young people can create more practical pathways towards employment, entrepreneurship and economic empowerment.
